Love - (noun) a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
Happy Valentines Day, Lovers! Yes, YOU! YOU are a LOVER! Whether you are currently married or single, all people were made to give love and we certainly all want to receive love. I know I do anyway, and I’m not ashamed to admit it.
I married for Love. This may seem obvious but nowadays people marry for all kinds of reasons: status, money, just to have a wedding, and last but not least to “keep up with the Joneses”. Yep, little ole’ me said I do to the Mister (Ryan) aka "my delicious delight of God's goodness straight from heaven’s chocolate factory delivered to my doorstep” for LOVE! For my new subscribers, I must make you aware that I tend to use my Holy Ghost imagination often and freely.
I thought RYAN was the perfect candidate for me to give all my love and affection to. I vowed to love him for better or worse, richer or poorer, and you know the rest. Oh, by the way, my vows to love have been tested and tried over the past 11 years and my love attributes have been challenged from time to time, but I'm determined to LOVE this fine species of a human ’til death do us part. We like to say it like this "We ain't going nowhere!" Ryan and I have the rest of our lives to help each other work on our LOVE skills.
First and foremost, we made up our minds a long time ago that DIVORCE is not an option! We are both believers in Christ and firmly believe that HE can fix any problem that comes our way. For my single and saved folks, I suggest that you don’t marry someone who doesn't believe what you believe.
Ryan and I have seen God work in so many areas of our lives so we decided that God can help us get through anything we face and help us become better at SERVING and LOVING one another HIZZZZZ Way! However, After 17 years of marital experience (including 11 years of marriage to the man of my “God-ordained dreams” (interpretation: I didn't really know what the man of my dreams should be like so I trusted God with this one. Lol!) and 6 years of previous marital experience prior to divorce) I have realized that marriage isn't always about a lovey-dovey feeling. It is a commitment to honor your vows day after day whether you feel lovey-dovey or not! Let’s be honest, most of us don’t get butterflies from doing the laundry but it is an act of LOVE. Being a LOVER means being a worker, a prayer, and a servant and the rewards are the immense blessings of being LOVED in return as you light up the lives of others and pleasing GOD.
Before I go any further, grab your cup because it’s time for a shot of JESUS CAPPUCCINO!
I don't ever want to live a day without LOVE and neither should you. Let's be junkies for love together! My personal desire is to be a HUGE, SUPER-SIZED COFFEE POT of God's love! I want to travel the World and pour out HIS goodness onto others so that they can “taste and see that the Lord is GOOD”. (Psalm 34:8) I am a self-professed Jesus Cappuccino Addict and a junkie for the J.O. (JESUS Overflow). I want to give it and receive it! Can you even imagine going a whole day without love? Yikes!!! I don't even want to ponder a day without the J.O.! Just imagine for one moment a day with ONLY haters. It would dreadful, dark, and depressing. That's reason enough to become a LOVER!
The truth is if you’re not living like this you’re not loving, and if you’re not loving you’re hating. Yikes, that sounds harsh but its true! So are you a Lover or not? if you’re not, the good news is that you can be a reformed hater in no time. Take a minute, get out your cup, and sip on these verses. They will change how you love and live your life!
My 1 Corinthians 13 remix (Message and NLT versions combined) says it best!
…So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.
Love never gives up [and is patient],
Love cares more for others than for self [and is kind],
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have [and is not jealous],
Love doesn’t strut [and is not boastful],
Doesn’t have a swelled head [and is not prideful],
Doesn’t force itself on others [and is not rude],
Isn’t always “me first,” [and does not demand its own way],
Doesn’t fly off the handle [and isn’t irritable],
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others [and keeps no record of wrongs],
Doesn’t revel when others grovel [and doesn’t rejoice about injustice],
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth [and rejoices when truth wins out],
Puts up with anything [suffers long, and endures through every circumstance],
Trusts God always [and never gives up, never loses faith, and remains hopeful],
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
Love never dies….[Love never fails]!
Wasn't that yummy! It's okay to slurp this up and drool on this a bit! This cup is freshly prepared for you because you are a LOVER! Don't ever ever--ever ever let anyone rob you of your LOVE! Our LOVE is what makes this world a better place! Until next time, LOVE ON LOVERS!
