Holiday Style Guide | 5 Holiday Outfit Ideas + Lookbook

Hey chica! Y'all know how much I love a good party, which is why I couldn't let this holiday season pass without giving my girls the goods on holiday glam dressing!  Christmas and New Year's Eve are the perfect time for exchanging gifts, letting your hair down, and attending holiday parties so I wanted to make sure you had some fresh holiday glam outfit ideas to help you look fabulous all season long.

Every woman needs a reason to glam it up with glitter, sequins, and faux fur and there is no better time than the holidays to do it!  In my latest video, I cover practical styling tips to jazz up your ordinary clothes into something spectacular for the holidays.  This video will inspire you to mix and match holiday colors to help you create one-of-kind outfits with what you already have in your closet. Truthfully, is there any other time you can dress like a glitzy christmas tree ornament and get away with it?  I don't think so.

Look #1: Holiday Colors Cutie

Red and green are known for being traditional Christmas colors that are sure to brighten up any room or tree. However,  this dynamic color duo is not commonly worn during the rest of the year (probably because of its unshakeable association with Christmas). Yet, red and green do indeed form a complementary color combination which is totally appropriate throughout the month of December to create a fun and fierce Christmas-inspired looks.

Look 2: Monochromatic Hot Momma

Choose one color such as gold to create a sleek, head-to-toe “grown and sexy” (date night or couples party look) that will leave you husband drooling and your friends saying, “You Go Girl!” Be sure to add sparkle and/or texture to ensure that the outfit looks intentional and not accidental.

Look 3: Holiday Work Hottie with Accessories

As cheesy as some holiday accessories can be you can always bring some style and sophistication to them by adding them to a professional and polished outfit.  Add a holiday scarf and  jewelry to a dress or jacket and you are holiday work party ready! This is an especially great idea for women who are on the go and need to be able to change into or out of their holiday look quickly and easily.

 Look 4: Sequins Sista'

Like that slogan says, “Go Big or Go Home!” That's exactly how I feel about sequins. When you commit all the way to an all sequins outfit you are making a flashy, fun, and fashionable statement that says you came to play! Think of it this way, if Christmas and New Year's Eve had a baby, he or she would wear sequined diapers every day!

Look 5: Cool Color Blocking Chica

This look is fail proof and quite simple to put together. If you want to turn heads choose 2 or 3 solid colors and combine them. The main idea is to incorporate chunks of solid colors including horizontal stripes or playful squares of color squares on a shirt or dress.

Bonus: Faux Fur, Embellishments, and the Lame’ Lady

What the heck does she have on?  When you hear this you know you are breaking out of the box. Get people talking about your look when you become a texture mixing style master. Find a common theme (for example common color(s) in each clothing item) and go to town.  Your look will be unique and cause you to stand out in a crowd.

I hope you have a great time at your holiday outings and look good while doing it! If this video and post were helpful please push the LIKE button and leave me a comment.
