The Divinely Designed Life: Chastity Brings Us Some "Good News" In Kobe, Japan
The recap of Chastity’s trip to Japan is long overdue! Truthfully, we’ve both been recovering ever since from our non-stop, round-Japan, sight-seeing and merry-making adventure. Like always, we let the good times roll and stopped to sleep only when absolutely necessary to prevent total exhaustion. One of the great joys of doing ministry with friends is that we’ve gotten the chance to mix God’s business with pleasure all over the world and spread “the good news” to women everywhere we go.
As a minister of the gospel for nearly 20 years, Chastity has been almost everywhere to speak. From hotel conference rooms to sanctuaries, she’s comfortable in any venue. Yet, the one place that’s always close to her heart (and mine) is a simple living room setting. Why? Because it feels like home. 10 years ago when I first encountered CSE our meetings took place in Chastity’s living room and, although her living room and ministry have grown substantially during that time, I can honestly say those tiny venues are still the place where women can let their hair down, cry, and get free - free to live “The Divinely Designed Life”.
You see, “the good news” that she shared in her living room (and that she shared with our Women’s Ministry at Kobe Union Church in Kobe, Japan) is that we are not accidents. Each of us are God’s daughters uniquely created by His perfect plan and design to be all that He called us to be. All we need to do is surrender to His will and allow Him to “divinely design” our lives each and every wonderful day. When we do this we will see His perfect plan for our lives unfold.
When we understand God’s love for us, we can understand why David penned the famous words of Psalm 139:
“For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;[b]
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!”
We should never feel alone, forgotten, or abandoned when we realize that God’s great love for us not only made us, but fashioned for us a great life story that was written before we ever came into this world. If only we would believe Him and agree with His word that His thoughts toward us are “precious” and many, and that we were skillfully made and never hidden from Him. Perhaps if we could really grasp that truth we could relax, lay all of our worries and concerns at His feet, and let the freedom of life with Christ rush in.
Needless-to-say, I couldn’t wait for Chastity to share her passion and excitement about this (her favorite topic) with the ladies in our Women’s Ministry. We haven’t stopped talking about her visit and are already plotting her return as many of the women in our group who belong to other churches have already volunteered to bring her back.
But here’s the good news. You don’t have to wait until next year! Chastity will be appearing on Facebook Live tomorrow to share a few nuggets about “The Divinely Designed Life” as a guest on Mango Chutney’s Wifestyle Takeover. And that’s not all! Chastity’s Living Room Coffee Break meet-ups are returning to the midwest US soon! Back by popular demand, sister circles will get the opportunity to talk shop with Chastity in a small group setting and learn how to be the fabulous, fierce, and faith-filled women God has called them to be. Contact us for more information about how you can join a group!
