THE POWER OF VISION

Hello Jushhy Friend,

Happy holidays!!!  As the New Year approaches most of us are looking forward to doing new things and having new experiences. Trust me, I'm ready to jushh up 2018 myself,  so I'm here to encourage you to GO FOR IT! But, before you race off in the wrong direction, I wanted to give you some proven tips for goal-slaying success! These are the keys to having an extraordinary year that you need to launch you into success!

Its' going to start with your vision!  In order for you and I to have a bomb-diggity new year we must start with a vision of what we want our new year/new life to look like. I guarantee you that hoping, wishing, and praying alone isn't going to cut it! I know that sounds blunt but somebody's got to say it, so I will put myself out there and declare loud and proud what I read in James 2:17

"In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead!!!"

WRITE THE VISION DOWN

I just returned from an amazing bootcamp where I spent an entire day training with celebrity stylist, Stylist J. Bolin!!! If you aren't familiar, he styles Sarah Jakes Roberts, Michelle Williams, Morris Chestnut, and Aunt Vi from Queen Sugar. It was an extraordinary experience that I will never forget! Truthfully it would never happen if I would never believed it could happen. This dream became a reality when I wrote the vision down in my journal. Yep, you read it right, I used a good old fashion pen and paper to launch my dream that one day I was going to meet J. Bolin in person and that he was going to train me.

BE SPECIFIC

Back in August I wrote down specifically what I wanted. I wanted an opportunity to train with one of the industries best, Stylist J. Bolin. I got real specific what I wanted to learn from him such as the tricks of the trade to help me better serve my clients. I went in great detail like how to price for my services, how to pull for my clients, contracts, and etc. I won't bore you with my massive list but I know you get the point. BE SPECIFIC!!!

TAKE ACTION

I stalked his Instagram page, website, and anything that had his name on it to find a way to make my vision possible. One day per my usual stalking visit to his page I saw that he was hosting a bootcamp for stylist to learn and grow in there craft. After more research I saw that there was an application process to attend and that they were only taking a handful of students. I could of gotten intimidated by the fact that he only has 166K followers on his instagram page...YIKES! Of course self-doubt kicked in but I silenced that noise quickly and just began to do and not think.  I had to remind myself that this was my vision and in order for it to come to pass I had to at least try.

I prayed then I did what any good christian girl would do, I called my good girlfriend who is an excellent writer and great supporter of my foolishness and shenanigans (every woman needs that kind of friend) and asked her to help me fill out the application.  Each applicant had to answer why they believed they should be chosen to attend. Together my friend and I came up with a colorful and descriptive paragraph stating why I was deserving off this opportunity.

After waiting, waiting, and more waiting I heard back from Stylist J. Bolin's team and I was accepted. I got in and I literally almost peed my pants when I got the confirmation letter.  I'm not lucky, I'm blessed and so are you! God has a plan for you friend and he wants you to believe that there is power in having a vision.

Habakkuk 2:2 MSG

And then God answered: "Write this. Write what you see.

Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run.

This vision-message is a witness pointing to what's coming.

It aches for the coming-it can hardly wait!

And it doesn't lie.

If it seems slow in coming, wait.

It's on its way. It will come right on time.
