4 Realistic Tips To Lose Weight

 

Being a wife, mother, minister, and entrepreneur is a full time gig but I realized from past mistakes that if I don't keep up with my health and wellness, I won't be able to keep up with any of those roles well. Although I knew this, I recently remembered that I needed to put this knowledge to work and put myself on the calendar to care for my health and wellness. I didn't want to become overwhelmed, so I started my weight loss journey by creating some realistic goals that this chick can actually do and maintain. 

 

As I mention in the video above, temptation to overindulge by eating the wrong foods will always present itself as a vital option for me, but I'm sure you'll agree that the older you get, the harder it seems to maintain your health and wellness... but it's not impossible. Nowadays ordering the extra slice of cheesecake isn't worth the added pounds to my frame because it's just too darn hard to get it off. Gone are the days when I could woof down 3 slices of pizza and drink soda during a meal because nobody has time for extra pounds showing up on my waistline the next day.

 

I,  by no means am an expert in health and fitness, but I've been active and fighting to maintain a healthy lifestyle all my life. I suggest before you start on any health and wellness journey that you consult your physician to assess where you are and what will work best for you. Healthy living has always been my desire and it will always be something I'll have to do, because "BIG BONES RUN IN MY FAMILY..lol!" However, with a little motivation  and inspiration from God I can do this and so can you!

I have seen some success so far in my healthy living journey and I wanted to share with you what I've been doing. I've been making small adjustments that are adding up to a big impact...looking and feeling better. Many of you who have been following me on social media and have inquired about what I'm doing to reach my goals so I put together my top 4 tips that are helping me get back on track to a healthy lifestyle.

 

Create opportunities to move more often

Instead of parking in the parking space closest to the door, dare yourself to park in the space furthest from the door. This is a great opportunity to power walk to the entrance and do a mini jog back to your car. These extra little steps will add up to a better heart rate and a little bit healthier you.

Make smart food choices daily

We all have cravings for the sweet stuff, however if we substitute even half of the sweet food for more healthier choices we will see a big difference in how we look and feel.  

Dress up to show up to your work out

I know what you are thinking, what does dressing up have to do with healthy living? Everything! Being a stylist for years I understand the power of dressing up for the goal at hand. Drink plenty of water

Don't earn all of you calories from sweet, sugary drinks. If you can make a small adjustment from drinking soda, teas, and juices to good ole' fashion water you will feel so much better because you're refueling your body with what it craves the most...water. Water is also good for healthy glowing skin as well. It's a win-win!
